Immigrants and Non-citizens

Welcome to Ken's Driving School (and the USA!)

Training for immigrants and non-citizens:

Whether you have never driven, or simply need a “brush up” lesson to pass your road test, we can help! We know what the DMV examiners are expecting from you and will tailor your lessons to help you pass your road test, while becoming a safer driver. We can also help you schedule your road test! Please keep reading!

Lessons are formatted using the CROP system formulated by Ken's Driving:

C = Controlling your car with confidence!
R = Rules of the road (understanding marked and unmarked roads, signs, traffic lights, proper turns, stops, etc.)
O = Observation (safely entering intersections and checking blind spots)
P = Parking (parallel, back-in, and curb parking on hills)

Understanding this simple system will help you learn safe driving habits and approach your road test with greater confidence!

Our vehicles have special safety equipment installed. We also use small cars that are easy to drive and parallel park! We offer pick-up and drop-off for each lesson. If your pickup or drop-off location is outside our normal service area an additional nominal travel fee may apply. You may purchase individual lessons, or you may purchase a package for a discount!
Fees are collected at the beginning of each lesson. We accept cash or credit/debit card (credit/debit cards are an additional $5.00 fee).

Note: There may be an additional nominal fee for pick-up and/or drop-off outside of our normal service area, or if you require lessons before 8:30am or after 4:30pm, or on weekends and holidays.
We believe Drivers Education should be educational and affordable. CLICK HERE FOR PRICING and SCHEDULING!

Immigrant/non-citizen driver education

Driving in the United States can be quite different than driving in other countries. Our approach to teaching you how to drive will depend on how much behind the wheel practice you have had in your home country and/or the United States. We will customize your lessons based on your skill level.

If you have little or no behind the wheel experience we will first teach you the basics of safely controlling the car. Once you have grasped this skill, we will teach what you need to know to pass your road test and be a safer driver in the process. Remember, the road test is a combination of driving skill and knowledge.

We keep our cars in clean, good working order and have special equipment installed for your safety. Our cars are small hatch backs that are easy to park. Here at Ken's Driving, our patient and experienced instructors are committed to helping you get your driver’s license while training you to be a safe driver at the same time.

Thank you for choosing Ken's Driving!
